About the role

We are looking for an experienced Change Manager to support a large-scale ERP transformation moving from SAP ECC6 to SAP S/4HANA for a state government department. You will play a pivotal role in guiding multiple agencies through significant system and process change, ensuring organisational readiness and strong adoption across all impacted business areas.

Working closely with project teams, business units, and the Training & Capability Lead, you will assess change impacts, deliver targeted communication, and embed sustainable behavioural change to support a smooth transition.

Must be able to work from Brisbane office 3 days a week. 
 

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive Change Management Strategy and Plan aligned with SAP Activate methodology.
  • Conduct detailed change impact assessments and stakeholder analyses.
  • Identify and proactively manage change-related risks, issues, and resistance.
  • Produce clear and tailored communications for stakeholders at all levels.
  • Establish and support change networks, including champions and super-users.
  • Drive business readiness and monitor adoption, engagement, and sentiment.
  • Collaborate with the Training & Capability Lead to align training with change impacts and timelines.
  • Track, measure and report on change progress, providing insights and recommendations to leadership.
     

Highly desirable criteria

  • Demonstrated experience delivering change management for large-scale ERP or SAP programs, ideally SAP S/4HANA.
  • Experience working within government, public sector or regulated environments.
  • Proven success in leading stakeholders through significant technology or process transformation.
     

Desirable criteria

  • Understanding of SAP functional areas including Finance (FI), Asset Management, and Project Systems.
  • Familiarity with SAP Activate, Agile methods, and structured project environments.
  • Experience embedding long-term behavioural and capability uplift across diverse user groups.
     

Skills and experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Change Management roles on complex transformation projects.
  • Strong communication and engagement skills, with the ability to translate technical impacts into clear, accessible messaging.
  • Ability to manage resistance, influence diverse stakeholder groups, and build trusted relationships.
  • Solid analytical skills with the ability to interpret impacts, identify risks, and propose workable solutions.
  • Experience establishing change networks and supporting business readiness activities.
