About the role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to lead the delivery of a high-profile Document Management System (DMS) project within a large, government-focused organisation. This role will play a key part in expanding the implementation of document management capability across the organisation, building on significant work already completed. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the project is delivered effectively, on time and in alignment with strategic objectives. The role will report to either the Delivery Manager or Director of Technology, depending on the evolving demands of the program.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the delivery of a strategic Document Management System project in line with organisational policies and governance frameworks.

Engage with business units and technical teams to gather, refine and translate business requirements.

Apply best-practice project management methodologies to ensure clarity, consistency, and delivery confidence.

Drive stakeholder engagement across executive leadership, technical teams, SMEs, and governance boards.

Oversee contract management activities, including issue resolution, performance tracking, and variation negotiation.

Establish and maintain robust project governance frameworks, including risk, performance, continuity, and disaster recovery considerations.

Monitor and manage project scope, budgets, timelines, and change processes.

Provide strong leadership and direction to project team members to foster collaboration and capability uplift.
Skills and experience
-
Proven experience delivering complex ICT or business transformation projects, ideally within a government or enterprise environment.

Strong knowledge of document or records management systems and associated implementation approaches.

Demonstrated ability to manage contracts and vendor relationships effectively.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to navigate senior executive environments.

Deep understanding of project governance, risk management, and reporting frameworks.

Ability to lead and mentor project teams in a collaborative and results-driven environment.
Desirable
-
Experience working within a public sector or compliance-focused setting.

Familiarity with information management, digital transformation, or enterprise content management frameworks.

Relevant certifications in project management (e.g., PRINCE2, AgilePM, PMP).
