About the Role

The AV Project Officer plays a pivotal role in preparing technical documentation, reviewing supplier proposals, providing technical advice, and ensuring successful completion of AV installations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare technical documentation for projects based on design briefs and program plans for Request for Quote (RFQ) processes.
• Review and endorse AV supplier proposals, including technical specifications, bills of materials, and layout plans.
• Provide technical advice to AV suppliers during commissioning and integration into the department’s infrastructure.
• Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for newly completed installations.
• Review and update AV designs, researching alternative technologies to enhance functionality and reduce costs.
• Investigate and resolve emerging technical challenges, creating recommendations and designs for approval.
• Manage and store financial and project documentation in compliance with policies.
• Perform assigned tasks effectively in a dynamic environment with competing priorities.
• Foster strong working relationships with team members, suppliers, and vendors.

Desirable Criteria

• Practical experience or qualifications in AV technology, particularly in installation or engineering design.
• Experience in identifying and adapting to significant technological shifts within the AV space.
• Familiarity with government project management and documentation standards.
• Industry qualifications and/or experience with:
• Cisco video conferencing hardware and software.
• AMX control systems.
• Biamp Digital Signal Processor configuration and design.
• AMX SVSI Networked Video.
