About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to design and deliver intelligent automation solutions that streamline manual, repetitive, and high-risk business processes. This role will be responsible for implementing automation across HR, Payroll, ICT, and Data systems using modern tools and frameworks.

You will work closely with technical and business teams to identify opportunities, design end-to-end solutions, and improve operational efficiency through smart automation and integration practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, document, and prioritise business processes suitable for automation
  • Design and implement automation using UiPath, Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps, Python, and API integrations
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather requirements and optimise workflows
  • Build and maintain reusable automation components and logs
  • Ensure automation solutions comply with information security standards
  • Support testing, validation, and documentation of automation solutions
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and uplift internal automation capability

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience delivering automation solutions using UiPath, Power Automate, Azure Logic Apps, or similar tools
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript
  • Strong understanding of process mapping, system integration, and workflow optimisation
  • Experience with API integration, REST services, and data formats such as JSON, XML, and CSV
  • Knowledge of information security and data handling standards
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Desirable

  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors, SAP ECP, Azure DataHub, or legacy SQL environments
  • Background in automating HR, Payroll, or ICT-related workflows
  • Familiarity with Queensland Government IS18, IPOLA, and IRAP compliance standards
