About the Role

Our state government client is looking for a Business Analyst who will play a key role in supporting the current business processes, procedures, and system requirements, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement, and mapping the desired future state to inform transition planning and implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within a project team and organisational change management.
  • Capture existing business practices and future requirements across IT, HR, and Finance domains.
  • Analyse and document existing business processes, rules, and improvement opportunities.
  • Identify gaps and divergences between organisational practices and recommend optimal solutions for transition implementation.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Prepare detailed documentation, including business requirements, process flows, user acceptance testing support, training, and user guides.

Essential Criteria

  • Proficiency in investigating, defining, and analysing business rules, processes, and requirements using best practice techniques (e.g., SFIA: REQM & BUSA 4).
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including facilitating meetings and workshops (e.g., SFIA: CNSL 4).
  • Ability to develop workflows using Visio, BPMN 2.0, and create cross-functional process maps.
  • Experience with current state analysis, future state design, impact analysis, use cases, and user stories.
  • Skilled in creating user journey maps to optimise end-to-end systems and data flows.
  • Capability to integrate initiative process artefacts and workflows into broader business architectures.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise with internal business departments, third-party shared services, and external vendors to translate requirements into fit-for-purpose artefacts.

Desirable Criteria

  • Certifications or qualifications related to BABOK (Business Analysis Body of Knowledge) or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of HR and Finance Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
