About the role

A state government department seeks an experienced Change Manager to support a major enterprise system transformation. The role supports the transition from SAP ECC6 to SAP S/4HANA across multiple agencies.

You will guide organisational readiness, stakeholder engagement, and adoption across impacted business areas. The position works closely with project teams, business units, and the Training and Capability Lead to ensure a smooth transition and strong user adoption.

The role contributes to initiatives that support children, young people, and families across Queensland communities, including strong engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a Change Management Strategy and Change Plan aligned with SAP Activate methodology
• Conduct change impact assessments across business units and stakeholders
• Perform stakeholder analysis and engagement planning
• Identify and manage resistance and change-related risks
• Deliver clear and targeted communication strategies for stakeholders across all levels
• Establish and manage change networks including change champions and super users
• Support business readiness activities across the program lifecycle
• Monitor engagement, adoption levels, and organisational readiness
• Work closely with the Training and Capability Lead to align training activities with change impacts
• Track and report change progress, adoption metrics, and effectiveness to program leadership

Highly Desirable Criteria

• Proven experience delivering change management for SAP S/4HANA transformation programs
• Experience supporting large-scale ERP transformation initiatives
• Experience within Queensland Government or other public sector environments

Desirable Criteria

• Understanding of SAP functional areas such as Finance (FI), Asset Management, and Project Systems
• Experience working within complex and highly regulated environments

Skills and Experience

• Minimum 5 years Change Management experience across enterprise technology or ERP programs
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influence across technical and business teams
• Strong communication planning and organisational engagement capability
• Experience managing organisational resistance and embedding sustainable change
• Knowledge of structured project delivery methodologies such as SAP Activate and Agile
• Strong ability to work across multi-agency or cross-functional program environments
