About the role
Build and deliver cloud infrastructure solutions within a complex enterprise health environment, working across Microsoft Azure and AWS in a hands-on Cloud Engineering capacity. With the environment weighted approximately 70% Azure and 30% AWS, this is an excellent opportunity for a Cloud Engineer who enjoys working with infrastructure, automation, networking and modern cloud technologies rather than application development.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver hands-on cloud infrastructure solutions across Azure and AWS.
- Deploy infrastructure through Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and Git.
- Configure cloud networking, identity, security and monitoring services.
- Automate infrastructure and operational tasks using PowerShell, Python, C# or similar.
- Collaborate with delivery teams, stakeholders, vendors and customers to meet deadlines and technical requirements.
Highly desirable criteria
- Demonstrate strong hands-on Azure experience, ideally within large enterprise environments.
- Apply Bicep, ARM and AWS CloudFormation to build and configure cloud infrastructure.
- Show practical Azure DevOps and CI/CD experience across Azure and AWS.
- Understand cloud networking including VNET, VPC, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect and VPN.
- Bring experience with cloud identity, including Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD, AWS IAM and federated authentication.
Desirable criteria
- Experience with Azure Front Door, APIM, App Services, Functions, Load Balancer, Data Factory, Blob Storage, Log Analytics, App Insights, VMs, Machine Learning, Azure Foundry and Container Apps.
- Experience with AWS services including S3, RDS, EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, ELB, SQS, SNS, AWS Connect, CloudTrail and CloudWatch.
- Knowledge of Terraform and cloud monitoring technologies.
- Understand cloud security principles and enterprise security requirements.
- Adapt quickly to new cloud technologies and independently build new technical skills.
Skills and experience
- Bring 3–5 years of hands-on experience delivering and supporting cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS.
- Demonstrate strong scripting and automation capability using PowerShell, Python, C# or similar.
- Apply sound knowledge of IaaS, PaaS and SaaS cloud environments.
- Communicate confidently with technical and non-technical stakeholders while working under pressure and managing competing priorities.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a delivery team, with a proactive approach to problem solving.
