About the role
We are seeking an experienced CRM Technical Specialist to support a critical Microsoft Dynamics CRM upgrade project within a large healthcare ICT environment. This short-term contract role will focus on upgrading legacy on-premises Microsoft Dynamics CRM platforms to a supported Dynamics 365 version, ensuring system stability, security, and ongoing support.
This is a hands-on technical position requiring strong expertise in Microsoft Dynamics CRM architecture, migrations, and customisations. You will also contribute technical insight to support longer-term CRM strategy decisions, including potential future platform transitions.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the migration of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016 (Internet Facing Deployment) to Dynamics 365 V9.0 on-premises.
- Plan and deliver the upgrade of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2015 (internal deployment) to Dynamics 365 V9.0.
- Analyse existing CRM customisations, plugins, workflows, integrations, and architecture.
- Develop and execute migration strategies with minimal disruption to business operations.
- Conduct pre-migration assessments, data validation, and post-migration testing.
- Install, configure, and deploy Microsoft Dynamics CRM/365 solutions.
- Design and implement CRM customisations, including entities, forms, workflows, business process flows, and plugins.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide ongoing production support.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and development teams on architecture, deployment, and integration requirements.
- Implement CRM security models, role-based access controls, and data governance practices.
- Document current-state architecture and contribute to future CRM roadmap planning.
- Provide technical guidance and collaborate with ICT operations teams and stakeholders.
Highly desirable criteria
- Demonstrated experience upgrading legacy Microsoft Dynamics CRM environments to Dynamics 365 V9.0 or later.
- Strong experience with Internet Facing Deployment (IFD) configurations and claims-based authentication.
- Experience integrating Dynamics CRM with external applications using APIs and database-level integrations.
- Experience supporting proof-of-concept initiatives or CRM platform transition planning.
Desirable criteria
- Experience with Power Platform tools, including Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Understanding of ASP.NET applications integrated with Dynamics CRM.
- Knowledge of SQL Server database management, backup, and recovery concepts.
- Experience working in large, complex enterprise or healthcare ICT environments.
Skills and experience
- Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM (2013–2016) and Dynamics 365.
- Proven experience with on-premises CRM installations, upgrades, and migrations.
- Strong knowledge of Dynamics 365 architecture and Unified Interface.
- Experience with CRM customisation, including forms, workflows, business rules, and JavaScript.
- Experience developing plugins using C# and the CRM SDK.
- Knowledge of CRM SDK, Web API, and integration frameworks.
- Understanding of Windows Server, IIS, Active Directory, and authentication methods such as ADFS.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
