About the role
Our federal government client is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join their dedicated team. This pivotal role focuses on maintaining and enhancing our cyber security monitoring and analysis capabilities while collaborating with internal ICT teams to secure and build robust cyber security architectures.
Key responsibilities

Maintain and manage cyber security monitoring and analysis toolsets, such as Sentinel or similar SIEM solutions.

Lead the development of cyber security architecture in collaboration with internal ICT teams.

Monitor and respond to cyber threats, ensuring swift and effective incident response.

Ensure compliance with the Australian Government Information Security Manual.

Manage and deploy security technologies, including endpoint protection, firewalls, and IDS/IPS.

Provide expertise in Windows, Linux, networking, and system administration.

Utilize and manage cloud-based security services (Azure or AWS).
Highly desirable criteria

Extensive experience in cyber security monitoring within, or for, other Federal Government entities.

Proven expertise in cyber incident response.
Desirable criteria

Experience with security services in the cloud (Azure or AWS).

Familiarity with endpoint protection, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
