About the role 

Our State Government client is looking for an experienced Data Product Manager to join a high-profile, multi-year enterprise data transformation program based in Brisbane.

In this role, you will lead the delivery and continuous improvement of a portfolio of enterprise data products that support evidence-informed decision making across the organisation. Working at the intersection of business and technology, you will define product strategy, manage priorities, and collaborate with business stakeholders, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, architects, data engineers, analysts and governance specialists to deliver trusted, reusable and user-focused data products through agile delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in shaping enterprise data capabilities while working on a large-scale transformation program that will deliver lasting business value.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and communicate the vision, strategy and roadmap for enterprise data products.
  • Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of data products aligned with strategic business priorities.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into prioritised product backlogs.
  • Lead multidisciplinary agile delivery teams to ensure successful product outcomes.
  • Provide direction and prioritisation to Product Owners and Scrum Masters.
  • Own and maintain product roadmaps and backlogs, balancing business value, technical debt and platform enhancements.
  • Drive agile delivery focused on business outcomes, continuous improvement and user feedback.
  • Ensure governance, privacy, security and data quality requirements are embedded throughout product delivery.
  • Promote enterprise standards, reusable components and consistent data models.
  • Monitor product performance, adoption and benefits realisation.
  • Collaborate with architecture and platform teams to align product delivery with enterprise capabilities.
  • Foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture across multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable criteria

  • Experience working within large, complex organisations, preferably within the public sector.
  • Experience delivering enterprise data, analytics or business intelligence initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, information management and data quality principles.
  • Experience delivering user-centred data and analytics solutions.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams without formal authority.

Skills and experience

  • Demonstrated experience managing digital, data or analytics products.
  • Strong product management experience, including roadmap development, backlog ownership and prioritisation.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in Agile and Scrum delivery environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, facilitation and negotiation skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking with a practical, outcomes-focused delivery approach.
  • Proven ability to translate business priorities into actionable work for technical delivery teams.
  • Experience working with enterprise data platforms and business intelligence solutions.
  • Experience with the following technologies:
