About the role
Our state government client is seeking a Dynamics Tester to support delivery of a mission-critical digital health platform.
You work within a project team and report to the leadership group. The role focuses on quality assurance across the full solution lifecycle. Responsibilities include building test strategies, executing test plans, validating system outcomes, and supporting reliable delivery of the platform.
Key Responsibilities
Test planning and execution
- Plan and execute end to end testing across Microsoft Power Platform solutions
- Create and maintain test cases to support release planning activities
- Estimate testing effort and contribute to delivery risk assessments
- Execute manual and automated testing across Dataverse, Power Apps, and Power Automate
Requirements analysis and traceability
- Review requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Build traceability between requirements and test cases
- Ensure full coverage across functional and non functional requirements
- Maintain testing progress reports and documentation
Test design and automation
- Design automated test cases using Power Platform Test Studio, Playwright, and related tools
- Develop and maintain automation frameworks for Power Platform solutions
- Support CI CD testing integration and maintain reusable automated tests
Defect tracking and reporting
- Manage defects and testing tasks through Azure DevOps Boards
- Track, prioritise, and document issues identified during test execution
- Provide testing updates, defect reports, and release readiness updates to stakeholders
Highly desirable criteria
- Strong experience testing Microsoft Power Platform solutions
- Experience using Power Platform Test Studio and Playwright
- Experience building automated testing frameworks for Power Platform applications
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI CD pipelines
Desirable criteria
- Experience working within large government or enterprise transformation programs
- Microsoft Power Platform Functional Consultant PL 200 certification or similar
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology or related field
Skills and experience
- Minimum four years experience as a technical or business tester within fast paced environments
- Experience working within Agile and Waterfall delivery models
- Strong experience with Microsoft Power Platform including Dataverse, Power Apps, and Power Automate
- Experience with Azure DevOps Boards for test case and task management
- Experience supporting CI CD pipelines through DevOps tooling
- Experience with automation tools including Power Platform Test Studio, Playwright, Selenium, EasyRepro, and Postman
- Strong knowledge of Dataverse including data modelling, entity relationships, and business logic validation
- Experience with API and integration testing including REST APIs and Power Platform connectors
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to work with technical and business stakeholders
- Strong collaboration skills within cross functional delivery teams
