About the role

A state government client is seeking a Full Stack Developer to support development and maintenance of existing enterprise applications. The role contributes to delivery of operational systems used within a large transport environment.

You will join an Agile delivery team and work across the full software development lifecycle. The role focuses on building scalable frontend and backend services, supporting modern cloud architecture, and improving development practices across the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Work within an Agile team to deliver high quality software features across the full development lifecycle
• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable frontend and backend solutions
• Develop responsive and accessible user interfaces using ReactJS, TypeScript, and modern component libraries
• Build and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs using AWS API Gateway
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to maintain coding standards and quality
• Implement and maintain CI CD pipelines using tools such as AWS CDK and GitHub Actions
• Support automated deployment processes and improve delivery pipelines
• Contribute to continuous improvement across development practices, automation, and testing
• Provide support for existing applications and operational deliverables

Highly desirable criteria

• Strong experience developing modern frontend applications using ReactJS and TypeScript
• Experience building and integrating REST APIs using AWS API Gateway
• Experience working with AWS cloud services including Cognito, S3, VPC, and CloudFormation
• Experience building CI CD pipelines using tools such as AWS CDK and GitHub Actions

Desirable criteria

• Experience building GraphQL APIs using AWS AppSync
• Experience implementing automated testing including unit, integration, and end to end testing for React applications
• Understanding of cloud observability, monitoring, and logging practices

Skills and experience

• Strong experience building complex single page applications using ReactJS and TypeScript
• Experience with modern CSS frameworks or component libraries such as Tailwind CSS or similar tools
• Experience using Python for AWS CDK development and Lambda functions
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs
• Experience working with Git version control including branching strategies and pull requests
• Experience collaborating within Agile development teams
• Understanding of modern DevOps practices including CI CD automation
• Strong problem solving ability and focus on maintainable and scalable code
