Overview

We’re looking for a skilled Full Stack Developer to join a passionate digital team focused on delivering impactful educational technology. This role will initially focus on maintaining and enhancing a legacy application built with PHP and Symfony. If you have strong experience in PHP development and enjoy working on robust, scalable systems, we’d love to hear from you.
You’ll play a key role in supporting and improving a platform that serves thousands of learners across Australia. Over time, you’ll also receive full training and support to transition onto our modern stack built with Laravel and VueJS.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve an existing legacy application using PHP and Symfony
• Work with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to support front-end functionality
• Participate in planning, code reviews, and cross-functional collaboration
• Assist in the gradual migration and integration efforts with the new Laravel/VueJS platform
• Support database management using MySQL
• Collaborate with DevOps teams using Docker and AWS tools
• Write clean, well-documented code with a focus on long-term maintainability

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of full stack development experience, with strong PHP and Symfony expertise
• Proficient in MySQL and core front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS)
• Familiarity with modern development tools and workflows
• Willingness to learn and work on Laravel and VueJS 
• Experience with RESTful APIs and Git workflows
• Solid understanding of software development best practices
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Bonus: Experience working in edtech or on LMS platforms
