Overview

Our commercial client is seeking a IT Application Lead to optimise and maintain key business systems within a collaborative environment. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with business partners to ensure the systems meet evolving needs, while making a tangible impact on the organisation’s operations. As the IT Application Lead you will play a key part in system design, configuration, reporting, and upgrades, driving continuous improvement and system optimisation to support business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimise business systems, ensuring they align with business requirements and objectives.
• Lead system design, configuration, reporting, and upgrades, ensuring systems are scalable and functional.
• Monitor and report on system performance, identifying areas for improvement and optimisation.
• Collaborate with business partners to understand their needs and translate them into system enhancements.
• Act as the key point of contact for vendors, managing 2nd and 3rd level support requests and maintaining vendor relationships.
• Oversee system updates, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance, working closely with IT support and operations teams.
• Develop and deliver training and knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance internal team capabilities.
• Assist with the planning and implementation of technology projects and system enhancements.

Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in application support or administration, ideally in a lead role.
• Extensive experience in managing complex business applications, with strong expertise in system design, configuration, and reporting.
• Strong expertise with IBM Tririga or similar asset management systems (preferred).
• Proven ability in application lifecycle management, including support, upgrades, and optimisation.
• Experience in managing vendor relationships and coordinating system updates and enhancements.
• Ability to create clear, detailed system documentation and processes.
• Intermediate to advanced expertise reporting and writing complex SQL queries is essential.
• Understanding database design and system configuration.
• Hold a valid or willing to obtain a Working With Children Check (Blue Card) at own expense.
