About the role
Our federal government client is looking for a Pega Developer to lead the technical capability of internally-facing systems built on the Pega Cloud platform and work closely with other BAU and project teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Identify and implement opportunities for process optimisation and automation within the Pega platform.
- Develop and enhance Pega applications to improve quality, reliability, and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Work with Delivery Managers and continuous improvement teams to support an agile delivery model.
- Provide expert-level support for Pega applications, ensuring high availability and quick resolution of issues.
- Pro-actively investigate and resolve issues raised in production applications and track through the relevant service management systems.
- Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues before they impact operations.
- Integrate Pega software with modern web applications, web services and databases (such as Vue.js, MuleSoft and Oracle/Postgres databases on AWS infrastructure).
- Develop and maintain documentation for operational processes and best practices.
- Plan and execute platform upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Evaluate and implement new features and functionalities of Pega to keep the platform current and competitive.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of upgrades to ensure system integrity and performance.
- Work with stakeholders to deliver stable and secure software and environments, that align to the department’s reference architecture.
- Lead the Pega Centre of Excellence, providing guidance and mentorship to other developers.
- Establish and promote best practices, standards, and methodologies for Pega development.
- Drive innovation and continuous learning within the team to maintain cutting-edge skills and knowledge.
- Be proactive and motivated to build their site knowledge of the business and technical areas that are relevant to their role
Essential criteria:
- Demonstrated experience developing in Pega, using agile delivery methodology with particular focus on more technical implementations of Pega functionality to support complex business processes and systems integrations.
- Demonstrated experience managing the Pega platform, with particular focus on system optimization, upgrades, and establishing new integration paths/patterns with external systems.
- Demonstrated experience leading a team of Pega Developers, including provision of guidance and mentorship, as well as establishing and promoting best practice, standards and methodologies, and developing and maintaining documentation for development practices and operational processes.
- Ability to communicate technical decisions, strategies, concepts, and solutions to a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
Desirable criteria:
- Demonstrated experience in Pega Infinity ’24, including Constellation.
- Demonstrated experience integrating Pega with AWS, including how it was used and the applications involved.
- Pega Certifications or other qualifications of relevance to the role.
Technical Skills:
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in the latest versions of Pega Cloud, along with strong communication skills and willingness to invest time to learn the business processes/functions performed, and how the Pega Cloud platform fulfils these requirements. The department currently utilises Pega Cloud, Infinity v24 and, using the latest API technology, is integrated with a number of other systems/platforms including AWS Postgres DB and S3 for document storage.
