About the role

Our state government client is looking for an experienced professional to enhance cybersecurity practices across Queensland entities. This role will focus on creating sustainable, agile cybersecurity ecosystems by developing reusable approaches, fostering stakeholder collaboration, and mentoring the next generation of cyber professionals.

You will play a key part in driving organisational change, supporting entities in overcoming challenges, and helping them secure executive buy-in for long-term success.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Delivery team, partners, and state government entities to develop and implement tailored transition strategies aligned with organisational culture and operations.
• Provide entities with processes and tools to identify stakeholders, assess their influence and interest, and implement effective communication strategies to maintain engagement.
• Develop and deliver programs to upskill cyber graduates and employees, enhancing their cybersecurity knowledge and capabilities.
• Support organisations in addressing resistance to change and provide actionable strategies for overcoming obstacles and securing executive sponsorship.
• Identify and manage risks associated with change initiatives, developing contingency plans to mitigate setbacks.
• Mentor and guide cyber graduates, fostering their professional growth and career development.

Highly desirable criteria

• Proven experience in crafting and implementing organisation-wide change strategies tailored to diverse cultural and operational contexts.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including stakeholder mapping, engagement, and relationship-building at various organisational levels.
• Expertise in addressing resistance to change and offering solutions for conflict resolution and morale-building.

Desirable criteria

• Foundational understanding of program management principles.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity practices and principles.
• Experience in mentoring and professional development, particularly in the cybersecurity field.

Skills and experience

• Demonstrated ability to influence and gain executive support for initiatives.
• Proficiency in risk assessment related to organisational change, with experience developing and implementing contingency plans.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse teams.
