About the role

Our state government client is looking for a Principal Business Analyst who will be required to work closely with a broad range of clinical and technical stakeholders to undertake investigation, planning and development of BA documentation to ensure that the solution is aligned with the project objectives and meeting the business needs.

Key responsibilities

  • This position reports to the Manager, Business Analysis Services, OCIO, however will also work under the guidance of the Project Manager in the Digital Delivery team.
  • This position should adhere to a defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
  • Analysis/design of existing business processes, and future business processes, within the context of the information system solution.
  • Analysis/design of existing business processes, and future business processes, within the context of the information system solution.
  • Design and document functional specifications that most efficiently, effectively and consistently meet the business requirements.
  • Interpret business requirements and research possible application of the information systems solution to optimise local business outputs.
  • Design and document test scripts that accurately test that the functional design and meets the business requirements.
  • Develop specifications that will articulate what the solution or system requirements are to achieve to manage business level requirements and produce clear, detailed scoping and design documentation to be used by development specialists to build appropriate systems solutions.
  • Research and recommend variations to policy and procedural matters affecting the efficient operation of the allocated area of responsibility.
  • Building strong working relationships with internal and external customers and other work teams to promote multidisciplinary collaboration and drive the delivery of quality and connected investment governance, appraisal and advisory services.
  • Ensure consultation with relevant stakeholders including staff (clinical, non-clinical and technical) and other external departments/agencies
  • Initiate, influence and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Facilitate effective communication channels to promote the successful adoption of change within the business, and foster relationships through lessons learned, feedback mechanisms and management of expectations.
  • Ensure patients and other staff are treated fairly and with mutual respect and understanding, regardless of cultural, religious, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.

Essential criteria

  • Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD): It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment (Health Employment Directive No. 01/16):
  • measles, mumps, rubella (MMR)
  • varicella (chicken pox)
  • pertussis (whooping cough)
  • hepatitis B
  • ieMR experience will be highly regarded for this position
  • High level knowledge and application of, appropriate business analysis frameworks, and an ability to promote and provide advice on use of appropriate techniques, methodologies and tools, preferably aligned with Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK).
  • Healthcare experience or industry relevant training and qualifications will also be held in high regard (e. g CBAP, CCBA, PRINCE2)

 

Skills 

  • Has proven experience delivering a broad suite of business analysis deliverables/o
  • This covers requirements management; data analysis; solution design; testing and Process Modelling Notation (BPMN). (Preferably in a health care environment).    
  • Communicates with customers on the appropriate level to ensure understanding, p meets short- and long-term needs.
  • Proven high level negotiation, consultation, facilitation and effective written and ora program/project environment.
  • Advanced Documentation: Ability to produce high quality requirements and design documents that meet the c
  • Continuous Development: Promotes quality systems and changes to systems and management processes, e
