About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior ICT Program Manager to join a large-scale Application Remediation stream within a major ICT transformation programme.
The role will be responsible for overseeing multiple technology projects, managing project resources and budgets, and ensuring successful delivery within tight timeframes and complex environments. You will lead a team of Project Managers across several high-priority initiatives, while providing strong governance, reporting and stakeholder engagement.
 

Key responsibilities

• Plan, manage and track budgets and resourcing across multiple projects within the Application Remediation stream.
• Prepare and present Project Management Plans (PMPs) and Project Change Requests (PCRs) to the programme administration team.
• Lead and oversee a team of six Project Managers delivering multiple technology initiatives.
• Plan and track resource allocation, work prioritisation, milestones, project status and budget expenditure.
• Oversee projects including Azure platform uplift, SSE implementation, protected environment uplift and high-risk security remediation.
• Monitor and report on project status, milestones, risks, issues and delivery outcomes.
• Liaise with business areas and key stakeholders to ensure project engagement, delivery and outcomes remain on track.
• Coordinate work packages and competing priorities across multiple projects.
• Identify and manage project risks, dependencies and delivery issues.
• Provide clear and concise reporting to programme governance forums and senior stakeholders.

Highly desirable criteria

• Proven experience overseeing the successful delivery of technology-related projects involving high-risk outcomes and tight timeframes.
• Strong experience assigning and delegating responsibilities, monitoring project status, managing risks and maintaining project scope, budget and timelines.
• Proven experience managing large-scale corporate ICT transformation programmes.
• 3+ years’ experience using Azure DevOps to manage enterprise-scale cloud projects.

Desirable criteria

• Experience working within Australian Federal Government agencies.
• Experience managing ICT projects involving automation principles and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Experience delivering large-scale corporate ICT transformation programmes.

Skills and experience

• Strong project and programme management experience within complex ICT environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate multiple Project Managers and project teams.
• Strong budget, resource and schedule management capabilities.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work across multiple business areas.
• Strong understanding of project governance, reporting, risk and issue management.
• Demonstrated experience managing competing priorities and delivering projects within agreed scope, budget and timeframes.
• Strong experience with Azure DevOps, particularly within enterprise-scale cloud environments.
• Experience delivering technology remediation, transformation, cloud or security-related projects will be highly regarded.
• Ability to work effectively within structured programme governance and reporting frameworks.
