About the role

Mandatory criteria

• Certifications in Prince2, MSP or 5 years working experience in project/program management
• Experience managing inTune and Windows 11 upgrade projects
• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills particularly for QLD Government
• Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
• Experience with project management software tools including MS Project
• Experience in writing briefing notes, procurement processes and presentations preferred
• Experience working within government and/or legal/policy departments highly desirable
   

Key responsibilities

• Lead key projects relevant to ICTS including but not limited to: Windows 11 Standard Operating Environment Upgrade, inTune implementation, Laptop and iPhone Replacement Projects. 
• Prepare project briefs through managing clear scoping of projects.
• Manage, direct and coordinate technical resources to meet objectives and see activities through to completion efficiently. 
• Prioritise, allocate and coordinate project activities, and escalate risks and issues to the delegate or relevant project board.
• Identify gaps, issues, weaknesses, and potential risks which may adversely impact the project scope, deliverables, timeframes, resourcing, or costs and identify relevant mitigation strategies
• Adhere to the tolerances set against the critical path of the program and communicate and escalate deviations to schedule, scope, budget, benefits, risks and operational impacts
• Ensure that all projects and initiatives are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
• Monitor project progress by tracking activity, updating schedules, resolving problems and bottlenecks, publishing progress reports, recommending actions
• Prepare project status reports and routinely monitor and report on the progress of projects to all relevant stakeholders including report status at a program-level to the project executives 
• Measure performance using appropriate project management tools and techniques
• Delegate project tasks to the project team, initiative leads and business units
• Meet with teams on a monthly basis to co-ordinate cross-stream activities
• Consult and coach project and initiative teams with structured frameworks
• Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders and ensure that contractual milestones and obligations are met.
• Show judgement, intelligence and undertake objective, systematic analysis to draw accurate conclusions based on evidence.
• Actively participate in ad-hoc activities and projects as determined by the business unit.
