About the role

Our client is looking for a Project Manager to support their Windows 11 implementation program. Reporting into the Program Manager, Enterprise Delivery Portfolio, the Project Manager will lead the end-to-end delivery of the Windows 11 rollout across departmental devices and systems.

The role is responsible for project governance, stakeholder engagement, organisational change coordination, and delivery oversight to ensure a smooth transition to Windows 11.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of the Windows 11 Project, ensuring successful upgrade of relevant systems and devices to Windows 11
• Develop and manage the project plan across timelines, schedules, budgets, scope, and quality outcomes
• Manage stakeholder relationships across internal teams, business units, and external vendors
• Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks, issues, and challenges in consultation with stakeholders
• Provide regular updates to the Project Executive and Board, including escalation of deviations and corrective actions
• Ensure devices and systems meet Windows 11 compatibility and security requirements through testing and validation
• Oversee development and delivery of training and support materials for end users
• Coordinate functional team members and resources to support successful delivery
• Work collaboratively across the department and with external government stakeholders

Highly Desirable Criteria

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
• Prince2 and/or PMP certification
• Agile Project Management certification
• Strong experience delivering large-scale IT upgrade projects, particularly operating system migrations
• Strong understanding of Windows 11 deployment, compatibility assessments, and security configurations

Desirable Criteria

• Experience working under strong governance frameworks at both project and program board level
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating resources effectively
• Familiarity with stakeholder environments involving internal departments, external agencies, and vendors
• Understanding of workplace equity, diversity, and inclusion principles

Skills and Experience

• At least 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager
• Demonstrated ability to manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and quality outcomes
• Proven delivery experience using Prince2 and Agile methodologies
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage risks, issues, and competing priorities effectively
• Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, Planner, and DevOps
• Ability to work independently and manage assignments with minimal direction
• Strong organisational change and end-user transition support capability
• Commitment to contributing to a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative workplace
