About the role

Our client is looking for a Release Manager to build release management capability from the ground up in a greenfield program. The role owns the full release lifecycle, tooling, governance, and delivery across multiple delivery streams. You lead release activity during the program phase and support handover into future BAU once operational teams are in place.

Work is hybrid across QLD, ACT, VIC, or NSW. Baseline clearance is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the Release Management plan and related processes
• Schedule, coordinate, and manage releases across CRM, Data Analytics Platform, Integration Platform, Cyber Tech, ITSM, environments and data
• Manage application upgrades, patches, security improvements, and hardware upgrades
• Lead Release Readiness reviews, Milestone reviews, and Business Go or No Go decisions
• Produce Release, Deployment, Run Books, and Implementation Plans
• Work with delivery partners on system implementation
• Coordinate with test teams to define and maintain quality gates
• Work with release engineers on branching, merging, and code deployment impacts
• Deliver ongoing release status reporting, risks, issues, and decisions
• Ensure change processes are followed including Cyber assessments and penetration testing
• Maintain strong relationships across business and delivery partners
• Promote continuous improvement in release practices

Highly desirable criteria

• Experience in testing frameworks and tools
• Release or project delivery experience in Federal or State Government

Desirable criteria

• Background delivering systems across contemporary platforms including CRM, data platforms, and integration technologies
• Experience managing high integration across internal and external systems

Skills and experience

• 5 to 8 years building and managing Release Management capability in a greenfield environment
• Strong delivery background across project management, software development, configuration, testing, system delivery, and governance frameworks
• Experience leading enterprise scale release management across multiple programs and technology domains
• Tertiary qualifications and recognised project management or Agile certification
• Ability to guide stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams in structured release processes
