About the role

Our state government client is seeking an experienced SAP HANA Modeller to contribute to the success of the ICW initiative. This role involves utilising your expertise in SAP HANA to deliver key data solutions that drive compliance and reporting capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in business/systems workshops along with EDW Solution 
• Architect to review business scenario and use cases for data solutions.
• Architect and continuously work to improve the EDW platform capabilities.
• Analyse data model and ELT (Extract, Load and Transform) requirements.
• Develop integrated enterprise data model, entity relationships with complex modelling (dimensional, 3NF/Data vault), data processing designs based on EDW solution architecture.
• Develop and support data matching algorithms for data quality and insights.
• Develop data staging according to EDW platform best practices with complex transformation requirements.
• Develop and support data store objects, core data services for data consumption layer.
• Develop and support UI requirements from data models.
• Testing the developed solutions by establishing test data in different environments.
• Fix any defects from testing.
• Manage the project codes and deployment of developments and fixes.
• Develop and support all data processing workflows and their schedules with dependencies/prerequisites.
• Resolve any incidents and problems.
• Participate in priority incident management process.
• Monitor critical application functions.
• Contribute towards a positive, participative and supportive culture and build and maintain strong working relationships with officers across Queensland Treasury and other agencies

Skills and experience

• Modelling data using HANA 2.0 for e.g., calculation views, table functions, procedures, CDS, etc.
• Project experience in analysing, designing and optimizing models in relational databases with indices, optimized query writing by maintaining data integrity and system performance.
• Experience with SQL data warehouse and DB queries
• Experience in SAP SAC, including modelling, visualization, and analytical application.
• Security in SAP HANA modelling with roles and privileges, analytics privileges, roles design, masking sensitive data and anonymizing data
• Attention to detail, precision, and able to troubleshoot data quality issues
• Experience in maintaining conceptual, logical, and dimensional data models
• Solid understanding of relational databases, object orientation and normalisation
• Professional presentation and communication skills written and verbal, formal documentation, diagramming and modelling
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Appetite to explore technical solutions that can be used to apply to solving problems

Highly regarded although not mandatory experience would include:

• SAP ACS business integrity screening (GRC-BIS) implementation experience
• SAP Certification
