Overview

Our client seeks an SAP Project Manager to lead complex SAP implementation projects, blending technical expertise, business acumen, and leadership. The role involves managing project delivery, coordinating diverse teams, and ensuring timely, budget-conscious, high-quality outcomes. This position is central to a transformative ERP program, consolidating systems into a unified SAP platform to enhance efficiency, streamline processes, and drive business growth.

Responsibilities

ERP Implementation Leadership

• Plan, execute, and deliver SAP ERP implementation projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and the US delivery team.
• Oversee all project phases, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
• Lead specific streams of work within the ERP implementation, including greenfield and brownfield deployments.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

• Maintain open communication with stakeholders, providing updates on project progress, risks, and issues.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring alignment with business objectives throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with change managers to ensure smooth transitions and user adoption.

Team Leadership and Coordination

• Assemble and lead cross-functional project teams, assigning tasks based on expertise.
• Foster collaboration, motivate team members, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Conduct regular team meetings to ensure accountability and alignment.

Risk, Quality, and Change Management

• Identify and mitigate project risks early to minimize impacts.
• Implement quality control processes to ensure deliverables meet standards.
• Develop and execute change management strategies to drive user adoption.

Budget and Resource Management

• Estimate project costs, prepare budgets, and ensure financial efficiency.
• Allocate resources effectively and adjust as project needs evolve.

Technical Oversight and Collaboration

• Provide guidance on SAP system architecture, integration, and customization.
• Prepare internal teams for integration, testing, and deployment tasks.
• Ensure SAP system architecture aligns with  Architectural Principles and strategies.

Continuous Improvement

• Conduct post-mortems to document lessons learned and best practices.
• Stay updated on SAP technologies and project management methodologies to drive improvements.

Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; a Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
• 5–7 years of SAP ERP project management experience, including SAP S/4HANA implementations.
• Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and integration of production, sales, and dissolution systems.
• Proven experience in ERP deployments in industries like FMCG, manufacturing, or supply chain.
• Successful delivery of complex IT projects within budget, scope, and timeline constraints.
• Strong understanding of Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies.
• Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
• SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Associate Project Manager, SAP Activate Project Manager) are desirable.
• Background in FMCG, manufacturing, or professional services is advantageous.
