About the role

We are seeking an experienced SAP Solution Architect to join a large and complex enterprise environment in Brisbane CBD. This role will provide architectural leadership and strategic technical expertise across major SAP and ERP initiatives, supporting the design, integration and delivery of robust solutions aligned with business requirements. The successful candidate will have extensive experience working across complex SAP environments and large-scale ERP transformations, with the ability to translate technical concepts into practical business outcomes.
This is a full-time opportunity based in Brisbane CBD, with flexible working arrangements, including remote work, potentially available subject to operational requirements and approval.
 

Key responsibilities

• Provide architectural leadership and direction in the design and management of complex SAP and enterprise solutions.

• Analyse business requirements and system specifications to ensure solutions are aligned with organisational objectives.

• Identify, manage and mitigate technical risks and issues throughout the solution lifecycle.

• Design comprehensive system architectures, solution designs and supporting technical documentation.

• Analyse and resolve complex system and technology problems, delivering innovative and fit-for-purpose solutions.

• Provide expert advice to business owners regarding the enhancement and development of corporate applications.

• Develop and implement effective solution integration strategies across highly integrated ERP environments.

• Provide expert advice and support through quality reviews of solution deliverables.

• Review and recommend changes to solution designs to ensure they remain robust, scalable and fit for purpose.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to establish clear and agreed business outcomes.

• Lead and support solution integration design across multiple teams and technology platforms.

• Present solution artefacts and complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Coach and mentor architects and technical team members, supporting capability development and knowledge transfer.

• Support knowledge transfer and handover activities to build internal capability.

• Maintain current knowledge of SAP products, ERP technologies, systems integration and emerging technology trends.

• Ensure solutions comply with relevant architectural, security, information management and organisational standards.

• Contribute to quality, risk, health and safety, information security and governance requirements.

• Work collaboratively across project teams, business areas and stakeholder groups to maintain effective working relationships.

• Support project activities, testing, release deployments and other critical milestones, including work outside standard business hours where required

Highly Desirable 

• Extensive experience delivering complex SAP-based solutions across large enterprise environments.

• Strong experience across SAP Finance and Supply Chain modules.

• Experience working within Queensland Government or similarly complex public sector environments.

• Demonstrated experience as a Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect within large-scale ERP transformation programmes.

• Extensive experience designing integration strategies and solution architectures.

• Proven experience in Solution Integration Design across highly integrated ERP environments.

• Experience leading, coaching and mentoring other architects and technical specialists.

• Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical and architectural concepts into clear business outcomes.

Desirable criteria

• Experience within healthcare or other highly regulated environments.

• Knowledge of SAP and ERP-related business processes and terminology, including:

• Understanding of Queensland Government information, cyber security and public administration requirements.

Skills and experience

• 7–10+ years’ experience working in complex, large-scale business implementations, with significant experience in solution architecture.

• Extensive SAP solution architecture experience across enterprise environments.

• Strong understanding of large-scale ERP transformations and highly integrated technology environments.

• Demonstrated ability to analyse complex business and technical requirements and develop practical solution designs.

• Strong architectural governance, risk and issue management capabilities.

• Excellent stakeholder engagement, consultation and negotiation skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to a broad audience.

• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and work collaboratively across multiple delivery streams.

• Strong client service skills, including the ability to work to deadlines and service-level timeframes.

• Proven ability to build effective relationships with business owners, technical teams, project teams and senior stakeholders.

• Strong understanding of solution integration, enterprise architecture and modern technology practices.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and critical delivery milestones.
