About the role

Our state government client is looking for an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to on work on an exciting project. 

Key responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and deploying complex cloud infrastructure environments for large-scale products using automated Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates, aligned with SFIA PROG 5 standards.
• Implementing, developing, and documenting standards, processes, and frameworks to support modern DevOps deployments throughout all stages and iterations of the software development lifecycle, in accordance with SFIA SLEN 6. 
• Leading system design activities for strategic, complex development programs, creating effective implementation strategies that align with specified requirements, architectures, and performance constraints (SFIA DESN 6).
• Providing sound guidance on Information Security to ensure cloud solutions are secure by design, embedded into solution architectures (SFIA SCTY 4).
• Leading integration efforts consistent with agreed system and service design, measuring and monitoring applications against development standards, assessing risks, and taking preventive action (SFIA SINT 5).
• Offering advice on test planning and execution while promoting modern testing methods, automated tools, and techniques to ensure high-quality DevOps practices (SFIA TEST 5).
• Collaborating with business stakeholders to gather requirements, identify functional needs, and define and implement cloud solutions as necessary (SFIA CNSL 5).
• Staying current with industry trends and evaluating the benefits of adopting new technologies, driving their adoption within the department.
• Identifying and mitigating cloud security risks related to access control and privacy compliance; collaborating with Security teams to implement controls and maintain a high-security posture.

Essential criteria

• Demonstrated experience in Infrastructure-as-Code technologies (BICEP, ARM)
• Demonstrated experience of Microsoft cloud infrastructure technologies (Azure, DevOps)
• Demonstrated experience in deploying cloud resources via CI/CD pipeline toolsets (DevOps Pipelines)
• Sound experience in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash, JavaScript)
• Sound understanding of cloud networking and security appliance configuration and designs
• Experience in automated testing toolsets and the development of unit testing
• Proven ability to translate requirements into appropriate solution designs and architecture
• Experience in managing stakeholder relationships across a diverse landscape.
• Proven ability to coach and mentor others in the adoption and capability uplift of DevOps standards and practices across teams and technical domains.
