About the Role

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a key role in delivering strategic ICT initiatives across a range of projects, including backup and recovery, Azure landing zone deployment, multi-factor authentication, and privileged access management. You will work closely with stakeholders to define requirements, optimise business processes, and lead solution design efforts aligned with industry best practices. This role requires a flexible and collaborative approach, with the ability to support multiple initiatives simultaneously and contribute to organisational improvement through expert analysis, stakeholder engagement, and effective project delivery.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage key stakeholder relationships, and lead and conduct business/technical workshops and meetings as required to define requirements, business processes, and ensure improved outcomes.
  • Obtain formal agreement from stakeholders on the scope of requirements (including translating them to features, epics and user stories and associated acceptance criteria).
  • Where required, initiate communications between stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact for defined groups and facilitating open communication and discussion between stakeholders.
  • Take responsibility for investigative work to determine business, and specify effective business processes, through improvements in information systems, information management, practices, procedures, and organisation change. 
  • Take ownership of solution design and work with various stakeholders to finalise a compatible design based on industry best practices. 
  • Identify and assist the development of remediation plans to resolve any inconsistent or unclear business practices which could affect the success of the project.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring traceability is mapped and agreed for all business benefits through to system requirements.
  • Contribute to organisational change through recommended improvements to existing business processes, practices, procedures and information systems. 
  • Provide a high level of expertise in establishing and documenting ICT business and system requirements through a range of structured research and analysis techniques including, but not limited to facilitated stakeholder workshops, surveys, client meetings and industry reference reviews. 
  • Apply and utilise business modelling methods to ensure results oriented deliverables in a way that can be recreated and used as a corporate knowledge resource available to project level initiatives and executive decision making. 
  • Actively participate in the management of client expectations in a limited resource development environment with competing priorities
  • Take ownership of development cycles, liaise with vendor’s development team, and ensure quality and timely delivery of agreed outcomes. 

 

Essential Criteria    

  • Demonstrated well-developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, including the demonstrated experience in conducting workshops, maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders, ICT Operators and other service providers.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and validating multiple requirement types such as Business, systems, configuration and concept and experience modelling business processes using Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN).
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse business cases, which define potential benefits, options for achieving these benefits through development of new or change processes and associated business risk
  • Demonstrated experience and practical understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and PRINCE2 Project Management methodologies. (SDLC & PRINCE2 Methodologies)

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Senior Business Analyst role.
  • Ability to rapidly gain an understanding of business needs and translate business needs into updated process maps and user stories.
  • Ability to work effectively with little supervision and as part of a team in the design, preparation and delivery of solutions to clients. 
  • Prior experience and knowledge of core ICT infrastructure services such as network and data protection
  • Prior experience and knowledge of Azure cloud-based platforms, workloads and Software as a Services (SaaS) environments.
  • Prior experience and knowledge of IT Service Management
