About the Role

Our State Government client in Queensland is seeking a Senior Deployment Officer responsible for managing effective change and release process for new capability and providing coordination and management of major incidents and problems, including managing the service catalogue, improving customer experience, creating engaged customers and facilitating a trusted relationship with customers in operational and corporate support areas to achieve optimal outcomes for the departments strategic operational and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy and configure software application changes for supported computer systems, and investigate, analyse, and resolve system issues in lower and production environments.
• Maintain and administer the Managed Operating Environment (MOE) across the department, ensuring security, interoperability, hardware/software compatibility, patching, and compliance with best practice controls and governance.
• Provide high-level advice to senior management and external stakeholders on technical direction, platform management, and specialised technical support services for SCCM and Intune across the department.
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal technical documentation, manuals, policies, and processes to ensure effective governance and ongoing improvement of SCCM/Intune operations.
• Review and analyse service delivery performance to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in SCCM/Intune platforms and image management, optimising cost and performance while mitigating risks.
• Manage and communicate major incidents effectively, recommending deployment strategies, solutions, and workarounds to ensure timely resolution.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to support the development and sustainability of SCCM and Intune platforms, resolving issues within tight timeframes.
• Maintain consultative relationships and networks with senior management, other government agencies, and industry partners, including engaging third-party technical support for enterprise applications.

Essential Criteria

• Minimum 4+ years of experience in Microsoft deployment and End-User Computing (EUC) management technologies such as SCCM and Intune.
• Strong experience in Windows Server administration, Windows scripting (PowerShell), application packaging, and Microsoft Active Directory.
• Experience and/or certification in ITIL 4 Foundations.
• Familiarity with Knowledge-Centered Support (KCS) principles and practices.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience in managing large-scale IT deployments in enterprise environments.
• Previous experience working in government agencies or operational centre environments.
• Strong understanding of cloud-based endpoint management solutions.
