About the role

Our state government client seeks a Senior IT Support Consultant to join a Digital Marketplace team within a large digital services environment. You support enterprise systems and modern workplace platforms across government infrastructure.

You work across technical teams including networking, architecture, project delivery, and customer relationship teams. The role plays a key part in a major digital workplace transition program involving migration to a new Active Directory and Entra ID environment, Windows 11 standard operating environment alignment, application repackaging, and device rebuild activities.

You also support customer infrastructure environments and contribute to solution design, technical demonstrations, and enterprise platform improvements.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced system administration services across Microsoft enterprise technologies.
• Provide technical support and advice to internal teams and external customers within agreed service levels.
• Contribute technical expertise to tenders, proposals, and customer solution presentations.
• Support architecture, design, and delivery of infrastructure solutions.
• Lead technical activities across projects, including customer onboarding and infrastructure implementation.
• Research emerging technologies and assess suitability for enterprise environments.
• Identify infrastructure risks and improvement opportunities across tools, processes, and platforms.
• Collaborate with architecture, networking, infrastructure, and project teams to deliver enterprise solutions.
• Produce technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and solution materials.

Highly Desirable Criteria

• Experience working within Queensland Government or Australian Government ICT environments.
• Knowledge of government cybersecurity frameworks, ICT governance, and compliance standards.
• Microsoft certifications related to modern workplace or infrastructure technologies.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience contributing to solution demonstrations, proof of concepts, and technical evaluations.
• Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure transition or digital workplace transformation programs.
• Experience producing infrastructure architecture diagrams and technical documentation.

Skills and Experience

• Minimum seven years experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Strong experience administering Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager including OS deployments, application packaging, distribution points, and software updates.
• Experience configuring application control technologies such as Windows Defender or ManageEngine Application Control.
• Strong scripting and automation capability using PowerShell and command line tools.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows environments including Windows 11 desktop and Windows Server platforms.
• Experience managing Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
• Experience supporting Windows virtualised servers in VMware enterprise environments.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across technical and business teams.
• Ability to deliver reliable support services while meeting deadlines and service commitments.
