About the Role

Our Federal Government client is seeking experienced Senior Software Developers to deliver innovative capabilities by developing and integrating software, documenting technical processes, and assisting with testing and deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support, maintain, and enhance existing software capabilities to ensure application availability.
• Ensure the quality and security of software through appropriate testing and review.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by developing and refining procedures.
• Engage with business and product owners to clarify and develop user requirements using agile development methods.
• Document technical processes in line with organisational policies and encourage knowledge transfer within the team.
• Provide guidance and uplift the capability of other team members.
• Collaborate effectively in an integrated team, prioritising tasks, contributing to design reviews, stakeholder meetings, and agile processes.
• Enhance and support automation capabilities for existing systems and recommend/design new structures and tools based on business requirements.
• Integrate Commercial Off-The-Shelf and Government Off-The-Shelf software.
• Translate logical designs into physical designs and integrate software using Agile Software Development Methodology (ASDM).

Essential Criteria

• Programming/Software Development (SFIA Level 5): Takes technical responsibility across all software development stages, drives software construction activities, and ensures adherence to standards, including security.
• Specialist Advice (SFIA Level 5): Provides expert advice in specialist areas, consolidates expertise from multiple sources, and promotes knowledge sharing within the organisation.
• Systems Design (SFIA Level 5): Designs large or complex systems, conducts impact analysis, and ensures system designs balance functional and non-functional requirements.
• System Software (SFIA Level 5): Ensures system software provisioning and configuration to achieve service objectives, plans testing of new versions, and resolves service issues.
• Systems Integration and Build (SFIA Level 4): Provides technical expertise for system configuration and integration, defines integration builds, and designs and performs integration tests.
