About the role

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to provide leadership and expertise across both project delivery and current state discovery. This role will support the design and documentation of ICT solutions that meet business needs, while also capturing the existing technology environment to inform future planning and investment.

The Solution Architect will play a pivotal role in ensuring solution options and designs align with organisational objectives, security and compliance standards, and stakeholder expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop solution designs that meet project and business needs.
• Undertake current state discovery and documentation of complex ICT environments, including the use of standard modelling notations such as ArchiMate.
• Produce key artefacts including Solution Options Papers, Solution Design Specifications, Technology Reference Materials, and Risk & Compliance Assessments.
• Translate technical content into clear, business-focused reports, briefings, and presentations.
• Provide leadership and advice on solution design and technology standards.
• Engage and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including executive reporting.

Highly desirable criteria

• Experience with ArchiMate and UML.
• Familiarity with digital transformation initiatives and cloud-based solutions.
• Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, AWS, Azure, or ServiceNow.

Desirable criteria

• Previous experience in government or highly regulated environments.
• Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.

Skills and experience

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect in complex ICT environments.
• Strong background in leading both solution design and discovery activities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to present at an executive level.
• Experience in delivering secure, scalable, and high-performing ICT solutions.
