About the role

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to design and deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure technology solutions that align with enterprise architecture standards and business needs.
You will provide solution design, delivery, and assurance services to ensure ICT risks are managed and that investments deliver optimal value. This role will support a range of initiatives, including projects related to geospatial data, camera scheduling, and speed data applications.
 

Key responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into end-to-end technical solutions.
• Design applications, integrations, and infrastructure in line with enterprise architecture and security standards.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with business, technical, and external stakeholders to ensure solutions meet expectations.
• Support implementation phases, troubleshoot design-related issues, and ensure effective knowledge transfer.
• Maintain architectural documentation, repositories, and compliance with governance frameworks.
• Deliver solution designs, technical specifications, risk assessments, and handover documentation.

Highly desirable criteria

• Extensive experience in designing and delivering large-scale technology solutions.
• Background in geospatial technologies, data and databases, location and tracking.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proficiency in integration technologies (APIs, microservices, ESB).
• Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
• Experience across both public and private sector environments.
• TOGAF and/or AWS certification.

Desirable criteria

• Knowledge of enterprise architecture methods and best practices.
• Over 8 years’ proven experience in solution architecture roles within large and diverse organisations.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to present solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.

Skills and experience

• Proven track record as a Solution Architect or in a similar role.
• Ability to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with strategic goals.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across varied stakeholder groups.
• Willingness and ability to travel between Carseldine and Brisbane CBD offices as required.
