About the role

We are looking for an experienced Solutions Architect to join a high-performing multidisciplinary team delivering a strategic uplift of Microsoft 365, data governance, privacy and security capabilities within a large and complex enterprise environment.

In this role, you will provide end-to-end architectural leadership across Microsoft 365, Copilot, Purview, cyber security, privacy and governance domains. You will work closely with technical teams, governance bodies and senior stakeholders to design scalable, secure and compliant solutions that align with enterprise architecture standards and organisational policies.

You will play a key role in guiding architectural decisions, evaluating solution options, and balancing business, technology, security and governance requirements. The role requires someone who is comfortable working with emerging technologies, influencing senior stakeholders, and operating in a fast-paced environment where innovation and strong governance go hand in hand.

This is an opportunity to contribute to the safe and scalable adoption of Generative AI technologies within a large, highly regulated organisation. Success in this position will require strong stakeholder engagement skills, excellent communication, and proven experience delivering solution architecture across complex enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture

• Develop and maintain end-to-end solution architecture across Microsoft 365, Copilot, Purview, security controls and governance processes.
• Ensure alignment between backend platform capabilities, front-end user experience and cyber security requirements.
• Guide architectural decision making, trade-offs and implementation sequencing.
• Evaluate architectural options and provide recommendations based on business needs, risk and scalability.
• Design solutions that support future growth and adoption of Generative AI technologies.

Governance and Enterprise Alignment

• Provide architecture advice to governance forums and senior stakeholders.
• Present architectural recommendations supported by clear rationale, risk analysis and mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards, ICT governance frameworks and organisational policies.
• Promote the consistent use of architecture methodologies, frameworks and tools.

Stakeholder Management

• Build strong working relationships with senior executives, business stakeholders, technical teams and governance bodies.
• Influence key decision makers and facilitate collaboration across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.

Leadership

• Provide leadership, guidance and mentorship to multidisciplinary teams.
• Contribute to a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
• Support the successful delivery of strategic technology initiatives.

Highly Desirable Criteria

• Extensive experience designing and leading solution architectures within large and complex enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise across:
• Microsoft 365
• Microsoft 365 Copilot
• Microsoft Purview
• Cyber security and privacy controls
• Data governance and compliance frameworks
• Experience supporting Generative AI or AI governance initiatives.
• Proven experience operating within enterprise architecture and ICT governance frameworks.
• Ability to present and defend architectural decisions at executive and governance levels.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Experience working within highly regulated industries such as healthcare, government or financial services.

Desirable Criteria

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Enterprise Architecture or a related discipline.
• Experience working in healthcare or other large, federated organisations.
• Understanding of enterprise governance and compliance frameworks.
• Open Queensland Class C driver’s licence.
• Experience supporting digital transformation or innovation initiatives.
