About the Role
A large public safety organisation is seeking an experienced Technical Officer for ICT Asset Rollout to support the statewide delivery of end-user technology deployments.
This role focuses on the operational lifecycle management of ICT assets, including laptops, desktop PCs and video conferencing equipment. You will coordinate replacement programmes, manage asset returns, maintain accurate registers, and ensure assets are tracked and reported in line with asset management and financial governance requirements.
This is a contract opportunity running until 30 June 2026, with potential extension. The role requires four days per week onsite and one day working from home. A valid driver’s licence is required for occasional site visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate statewide rollout of laptops, PCs and video conferencing equipment
- Deliver annual device upgrade and replacement programmes
- Manage operational execution of a five-year asset replacement schedule
- Analyse and manipulate asset data (advanced Excel) to support rollout planning
- Coordinate asset returns and decommissioning activities
- Maintain accurate asset records across spreadsheets and enterprise systems (e.g. SAP)
- Update equipment registers to reflect lifecycle changes
- Liaise with administration holders and Finance Asset teams to support stocktake and reconciliation
- Identify opportunities to streamline asset tracking and reporting processes
Highly Desirable Criteria
- Experience coordinating large-scale ICT asset rollouts across distributed locations
- Strong understanding of ICT asset lifecycle management and replacement planning
- Advanced Excel skills for reporting and data analysis
- Experience maintaining asset registers within enterprise systems (SAP or similar)
- Knowledge of financial asset treatment, including depreciation and stocktake processes
- Strong stakeholder engagement and coordination skills
Desirable Criteria
- Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Experience working within government or highly regulated environments
