About the role

Coordinate the design, implementation, review and assessment of training programs and awareness initiatives which will support the capability uplift of staff in using new and existing operational systems, equipment, and facility functions. This may include delivering training programs and guidance to other trainers during the commission and operational readiness phases.
 

Key responsibilities

  • Identify the competency needs of staff and any relevant characteristics of each participant using appropriate investigation methods such as skills audits.
  • Develop, coordinate and deliver competency-based lesson plans, resource information, exercises and practical demonstrations based on audience e.g. adult learners, remote locations.
  • Actively engage with stakeholders state-wide e.g. Academy, to identify and resolve practical training issues to maximise the efficiency of frontline services.
  • Meet future information and technology challenges by identifying upcoming changes, priorities, risks and issues and develop and deliver relevant training strategies and content.
  • Maintain knowledge of data management and business systems and ensure that training and awareness sessions remain relevant and aligned with goals.
  • Maintain awareness of Queensland Government and ICT policies and standards and ensure training assists users to comply.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in designing and delivering training for new systems, operational processes, or equipment implementations in complex environments.
  • Experience in, or an ability to rapidly acquire a detailed understanding of the operational and ICT environment.
  • Ability to analyse, develop, deliver, facilitate and evaluate training programs and awareness sessions.
  • Experience in the delivery of competency-based training and assessment.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and the ability to apply those in the design and delivery of training.
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to think on your feet when facilitating.
  • Demonstrated capability to successfully engage a diverse audience of adult learners to help cement knowledge transfer and application.
