About the role

Our state government client is looking for a Training Lead to support a major Service Modernisation Program aligned to the Homes for Queenslanders plan.

This role focuses on delivering structured, scalable training across a large transformation program. You will drive the training strategy, oversee execution across multiple initiatives, and ensure staff and external users are equipped to adopt new systems and processes.

The role involves travel across metropolitan, regional, and remote Queensland.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of the program-wide training strategy and training plans
• Conduct training needs analysis across multiple initiative cohorts
• Manage and execute training delivery across transformation projects
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and cross-government teams
• Coordinate training logistics, scheduling, and delivery across diverse locations
• Adapt training approaches to suit different learning styles and program changes
• Develop assessment frameworks to measure training effectiveness
• Produce training reports and executive-level presentations
• Support adoption of new systems, including telephony, to improve frontline service delivery
• Continuously improve training content, delivery methods, and engagement outcomes

Highly desirable criteria

• Experience delivering training within large-scale government transformation programs
• Exposure to service modernisation or ICT uplift initiatives
• Experience supporting frontline or customer-facing service environments
• Experience working across geographically dispersed teams

Desirable criteria
 

• Experience working within Queensland Government environments
• Understanding of change management and engagement practices
• Experience working with vulnerable or community-focused service delivery programs

Skills and experience

• Proven experience leading and delivering end-to-end training programs
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
• Ability to think strategically and align training with program objectives
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Analytical mindset with experience in training needs analysis and data-driven improvements
• Experience facilitating training sessions both in-person and virtually
• Proficiency with Learning Management Systems to track and manage training
• Ability to adapt quickly and work across evolving program requirements
• Collaborative and inclusive approach to training delivery

Experience required

• 3 to 5 years’ experience as a Training Lead or Training Manager
• Experience within digital transformation or large-scale ICT programs
