About the role
Our client is looking for a Business Analyst to support eProcurement Phase 2, focused on Purchase-to-Pay and integration with the ERP.
This role will act as the bridge between business stakeholders, SMEs, internal technology teams and the vendor to ensure the delivered solution is practical, fit-for-purpose and ready for implementation.
This is an end-to-end Business Analyst role, covering requirements, process mapping, solution shaping, vendor engagement, testing, go-live readiness and hypercare support.
Key Responsibilities
Business analysis, process and requirements leadership
Plan and facilitate requirements and process discovery through workshops, interviews, observation and document review.
Document As-Is and To-Be processes, including process maps, gaps, controls, pain points and improvement opportunities.
Translate business needs into clear, testable requirements, including BRDs, user stories and acceptance criteria.
Maintain requirements traceability through design, build and testing.
Partner with SMEs across Finance, Accounts Payable, Procurement, Stores and Digital to ensure operational needs are understood and carried through.
Solution shaping and vendor engagement
Work directly with the vendor to refine solution approach, clarify requirements and negotiate practical outcomes.
Confirm what will be delivered, configured or changed in process.
Capture design decisions, assumptions and dependencies.
Play back solution outcomes clearly to stakeholders and ensure shared understanding.
Support alignment to the broader Source-to-Pay vision and ERP integration requirements.
Delivery support across design, build and test
Act as the day-to-day bridge between SMEs and delivery teams.
Ensure build outputs reflect agreed processes and requirements.
Support prioritisation and sequencing of delivery work.
Prepare briefings and regular stakeholder updates, including actions, risks, issues and recommended decisions.
Testing support
Develop end-to-end test scenarios and test cases aligned to requirements, Purchase-to-Pay processes and integrated touchpoints.
Support or execute SIT, UAT and regression testing as needed.
Assist with defect reproduction, triage and retest coordination.
Ensure test evidence is complete and outcomes are documented for approvals and go/no-go decisions.
Use Jira and Zephyr to support testing and delivery activities.
Go-live readiness and hypercare
Contribute to cutover planning, readiness checklists and operational transition preparation.
Support go-live activities, hypercare triage and issue management through stabilisation.
Highly desirable criteria
Experience delivering Source-to-Pay, eProcurement or Procure-to-Pay programs.
Demonstrated Business Analyst experience across ERP or enterprise platforms.
Strong understanding of P2P, Accounts Payable, receipting, invoice matching, approvals and reporting.
Hands-on experience supporting testing, including test scenario design, execution support and defect triage.
Experience using Jira and Zephyr.
Desirable criteria
Familiarity with Agile delivery concepts.
Experience working in cross-functional delivery teams.
Experience in a water utility, government or regulated environment.
Skills and experience
Strong experience in requirements elicitation, documentation, prioritisation and traceability.
Strong process mapping experience, including As-Is and To-Be processes.
Ability to translate business processes into practical system outcomes.
Proven ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders and external vendors.
Strong communication and facilitation skills, including the ability to run workshops with SMEs.
Ability to produce clear artefacts, briefings and stakeholder updates.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail.
Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes under time pressure.
Self-starter with strong ownership and the ability to operate across BA, process, vendor liaison and testing support.
