About the role
We are seeking an experienced Master Scheduler to play a pivotal role within a large-scale transformation program. This position sits within a high-performing Program Management Office (PMO) and is responsible for delivering expert planning and scheduling services to support multiple concurrent implementations. You will be instrumental in ensuring program timelines are accurate, dependencies are clearly mapped, and delivery progress is effectively monitored and reported. This is a hands-on, high-impact role requiring strong collaboration across business and technical teams, as well as the ability to influence stakeholders and drive best practice scheduling standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and continuously improve program planning and scheduling standards
- Provide expert advice on scheduling to support optimal delivery outcomes
- Build and manage integrated schedules across multiple workstreams
- Facilitate planning workshops to define timelines and identify interdependencies
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure all program activities are accurately captured and baselined
- Monitor schedule performance and proactively identify risks, delays, and constraints
- Recommend corrective actions to ensure delivery remains on track
- Map and maintain interdependencies across concurrent implementations
- Provide regular reporting on schedule progress, risks, and resource impacts
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives in scheduling practices
- Mentor team members and contribute to knowledge sharing across the PMO
Highly desirable criteria
- Extensive experience using MS Project / Project Online for complex program scheduling
- Proven experience supporting large-scale transformation programs (government or enterprise)
- Strong capability in managing dependencies, resource planning, and critical path analysis
- Experience facilitating planning and scheduling workshops
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders across multiple teams
Desirable criteria
- Experience working within structured PMO environments
- Exposure to government or highly regulated industries
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members
Skills and experience
- Advanced scheduling expertise with strong attention to detail and analytical capability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide high-level reporting
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Ability to identify weaknesses in schedule design and implement best practice improvements
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities across complex, multi-stream environments
- Self-driven, proactive, and capable of operating with minimal supervision
