About the role

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive QA Analyst to join their team and support the ongoing success of a high-impact mobile app.

This role will support the quality, accessibility and performance of a large-scale mobile product used by customers across Queensland. The successful candidate will work closely with the Product Owner, internal stakeholders and an external technology vendor to test releases, validate defect fixes and support future feature improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and execute detailed test plans and test cases for native iOS and Android applications.
• Conduct functional, regression, integration and exploratory testing across mobile platforms.
• Coordinate and execute User Acceptance Testing, including preparing UAT scripts, supporting business stakeholders and tracking outcomes.
• Identify, document and prioritise defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
• Work closely with the external app vendor to log, triage and validate defects.
• Confirm bug fixes and defect resolutions before release.
• Perform regression testing on resolved defects to confirm no unintended impacts.
• Support release validation and production smoke testing.
• Maintain clear documentation of test results, defect status and release readiness.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, test coverage and testing standards.

Highly desirable criteria

• Proven experience as a QA Analyst or Software Tester.
• Demonstrated experience testing native mobile applications across iOS and Android.
• Strong experience executing structured test cases for User Acceptance Testing.
• Experience working with third-party vendors or external development partners to validate defect fixes.
• Experience using mobile device testing tools, emulators and simulators.
• Experience with mobile-native test automation frameworks.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and release management processes.
• Proficiency using defect tracking and test management tools.

Desirable criteria

• Understanding of accessibility guidelines and standards.
• Experience using native device accessibility tools, including colours, fonts and screen readers.
• Experience supporting release validation and production smoke testing.
• Experience contributing to QA process improvement and testing standards.
• Previous experience working in agile digital product teams.
• Experience supporting high-volume, customer-facing mobile applications.

• Excellent written documentation skills, including clear and detailed defect reporting.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Product Owners, vendors, business users and technical teams.
• Ability to prepare test scripts, track test outcomes and report release readiness.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering seamless digital experiences.
• Ability to manage defects from identification through to resolution and release validation.
• Comfortable working in a structured testing environment across maintenance releases, bug fixes and new feature enhancements.
