About the role

We are seeking an experienced Power Platform Solution Architect to provide senior-level technical leadership, solution architecture and digital advisory services across a range of business initiatives.

The role will help business areas move from ideas and pain points through to practical, evidence-based technology decisions. You will assess opportunities, determine the suitability of Power Platform and other technology options, and design secure, maintainable and supportable solutions.

This is a hands-on role requiring a strong combination of Power Platform expertise, solution architecture, business analysis and stakeholder engagement. You will play a key role in establishing practical governance, development standards and sustainable operating practices while supporting citizen developers and building organizational capability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide senior-level solution architecture and technical leadership across Power Platform initiatives.
• Design, develop and support solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, SharePoint Online and Power BI.
• Assess business problems, opportunities and requirements and recommend appropriate technology solutions.
• Determine when Power Platform is appropriate and when solutions are better suited to SaaS, enterprise platforms, procurement or business process change.
• Design secure, scalable, maintainable and supportable solutions considering data, integration, identity, access, environments, lifecycle, monitoring and support.
• Facilitate requirements gathering, process analysis, solution assessment and option evaluation.
• Establish practical governance, development standards, assurance processes and sustainable operating practices.
• Provide clear technical recommendations and constructive challenge to business and technical stakeholders.
• Support and guide citizen developers through appropriate development standards, governance and escalation pathways.
• Develop reusable architecture, documentation, standards and delivery artefacts.
• Provide coaching and knowledge transfer to business and technical teams.
• Contribute to the development of future digital solutions capability, service models and sourcing approaches.
• Collaborate with technical, security, architecture, data, reporting and enterprise technology stakeholders.
• Manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes independently in a changing environment.

Highly desirable criteria

• Senior-level experience as a Power Platform Solution Architect, Digital Solutions Lead or equivalent.
• Deep and current hands-on experience across Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, SharePoint Online and Power BI.
• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering secure, maintainable and supportable enterprise solutions.
• Strong business analysis and facilitation skills, including requirements elicitation, process analysis and option assessment.
• Demonstrated judgement in build-versus-buy decisions and assessing Power Platform suitability.
• Experience establishing technology governance, development standards, assurance and lifecycle practices.
• Strong ability to communicate complex technical decisions to executives, business stakeholders, technical teams and delivery partners.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing demand and deliver practical outcomes.

Desirable criteria

• Experience working in a small or medium-sized organisation with greenfield or low-maturity digital environments.
• Experience within government or comparable complex enterprise environments.
• Experience with Copilot Studio, AI-assisted business processes and responsible AI controls.
• Experience integrating Power Platform with APIs, Azure services and enterprise applications.
• Experience establishing or contributing to a Centre of Excellence or Community of Practice.
• Experience developing proportionate governance frameworks that enable innovation without unnecessary centralisation.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications and demonstrated ongoing professional development.

You will bring architectural discipline while avoiding unnecessary complexity and will be comfortable working through ambiguity to create structure, momentum and practical outcomes.

You will also be collaborative and constructive, building strong relationships while confidently challenging assumptions where required. A key part of the role will be leaving the organization stronger through knowledge transfer, documentation, coaching and repeatable delivery practices.
